Analisis of Caged Birds
The name of this poem is caged bidrs, which sounds like a bird was trapped in a cage wanted to escape.
In the poem the bird was a very intensed mind set to escape out the cage. I like that the poem was short and it was really interesting, because it made me think about me being trapped somewhere I didn't want to be. Just by reading the poem I can tell that the mood was very sad and it would't be a good sight to see. When I read this poem I felt sad for him, because I would't enjoy being in the same position as him.In my own perpective I say the speaker felt that slavery was horrible and he hates that slavery was discovered.I know why the caged bird beats his wing\till his blood is red on the cruel bars, I can understand that the bird is going through some horrible things to escape. Instead of the bird singing a happy song, he was begging\pleading for freedom. The simile was the river flows like a steam of glass.A metaphor in the poem was caged birds =slaves or african american who are not free. Imagery in the poem is first bird sing and the first bud opens and the faint perfume from. Examples of caged birds are people in jail, me by my aunt house and me going by my step-mom.
